CONTRASTE at Rencontres d'arles

COLORS unveils CONTRASTE, a new entity dedicated to art and culture. For the Rencontres d’Arles, CONTRASTE brings together twelve artists whose practices intersect around photography: as trace, language, material, or starting point. This exhibition is conceived as a space for encounters between contemporary artists, directors, and photographers. It sketches a dialogue between visual writing and contemporary forms of narration. The exhibition thus celebrates the porosity of practices and the power of creative collaborations. It affirms a vision in which artists are no longer positioned at the margins of the image industries, but as central forces capable of shifting perspectives and reinventing contemporary visual narratives.

NEW DIRECTOR

HUGO DAVID

Hugo joins our roster of new directors. After studying film in Montpellier, Hugo David worked for a time on a local TV series before being entrusted by Jean-Baptiste Durand, his former professor, with directing the making-of documentary for his feature film Chien de la casse, shot in late 2021. It was during this shoot that he met Raphaël Quenard, and their first short film L’Acteur was born — a project for which they would both receive César nominations. This collaboration continued with the feature film I Love Peru, released in cinemas in 2025 and selected for the 78th edition of the Cannes Film Festival. Today, Hugo is a writer on various projects while developing his second feature film.
