CHRISTOPHE HONORE
A French director, writer and stage director from Brittany, Christophe Honoré studied literature and cinema, published novels and children’s books, wrote polemical pieces for Cahiers du Cinéma and taught at La Fémis before directing his first feature, Dix-sept fois Cécile Cassard. His style is immediately recognisable, musical and iconoclastic, moving between desire, mourning and the citation of a cinema he loves, from Demy to Truffaut. Seven of his films have been selected at Cannes, including Les Chansons d’amour, Plaire, aimer et courir vite and Marcello Mio, all in competition. He also works extensively in theatre and opera, and directed Le Lycéen from the death of his own father.
